Sales Representative – Agricultural Segment – Apply Online!

Purple Cow Organics, LLC is currently seeking a full-time sales consultant for its Agriculture market segment. This position will ideally work out of our Middleton, Wisconsin office and report to the Director of Sales. The position is to sell soil amendment products and systems to farmers/growers primarily in the Midwest. The ideal candidate will enjoy being an integral part of growing a small business by working with innovators and early adopters.

Further, the candidate will have the ability to shift between multiple job responsibilities, have a passion for sales, and possess some background in soil science, agronomy, or similar field.

Role And Responsibilities

  • Exceed segment sales goals by consultatively selling Purple Cow Organics’ products/systems to farmers, particularly organic farmers
  • Be a part of a team whose objective is to exceed team sales goals through collaborative sales efforts
  • Establish new prospects and clients by attending trade shows, speaking engagements, prospecting, networking, gaining referrals from existing clients, and cold calling lead lists
  • Retain and increase revenue from existing accounts
  • Attend trade shows of assigned market segment(s) as attendee or booth host
  • Follow the sales order process
  • Network with professionals, experts, vendors, clients, and partners in assigned market segment
  • Use CRM according to company standards
  • Maintain professional and technical knowledge as necessary
  • Other duties as assigned

  • Proficiency in MS Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook, Powerpoint)
  • Ability to be coached and work according to the Purple Cow Organics brand/values

  • High School Diploma or higher
  • Valid driver’s license and at least 21 years of age
  • Reliable transportation and proof of auto insurance
  • Insatiable curiosity

Preferred Skills

  • Prior experience selling products to (organic) farmers
  • Certified Soil Scientist or Crop Advisor
  • Soil Sciences, Agronomy, or like education, background, or experience
  • Organic Agriculture background a huge plus
  • Experience with a CRM, specifically SalesForce
  • Bachelor’s Degree or higher
  • Passion for improving soils and helping people grow
  • Interest / experience in organic food production
  • Public speaking and/or Presentation experience or skills

This is a full-time position that offers competitive pay, 401K with company contribution, vacation time, and health and dental insurance to all full-time employees. Salary and/or commission structure will be commensurate with candidates’ experience.
