Growing Food for Our Community

Purple Cow Organics is proud to support Madison Area Food Pantry Gardens and the work they do to help provide fresh food for people across the Madison area.

MAFPG brings together volunteers, growers, and community partners to grow, gather, and donate fresh produce for local food pantries and meal programs. Their gardens produce an incredible amount of food each year, helping more fresh, nutritious produce reach people throughout Dane County.

What Madison Area Food Pantry Gardens Does

Madison Area Food Pantry Gardens has been serving the community since 2000, growing and gathering fresh produce for Dane County’s emergency food system.

With a network of local gardens and thousands of volunteers, MAFPG helps plant, maintain, harvest, and distribute produce throughout the growing season. They also work with local growers to collect surplus produce that can be donated instead of going to waste.

Since 2000, MAFPG has grown, gleaned, and donated more than 2 million pounds of fresh produce.

Why Their Work Matters

Fresh food can make a real difference for families and individuals who rely on local food pantries and meal programs.

MAFPG helps make sure fresh produce is part of that support. Their work brings together volunteers, community organizations, growers, and sponsors to help provide more nutritious food to people across Dane County.

It takes a lot of planning, labor, land, and community support to grow and distribute that much food every year, which is why we’re proud to stand behind the work they’re doing.

Purple Cow + MAFPG

Purple Cow Organics supports Madison Area Food Pantry Gardens every year through both product donations and financial contributions.

We’re proud to sponsor an organization that puts so much time, energy, and care into growing food for people in our community.

MAFPG’s work is a great example of what can happen when local organizations, volunteers, and businesses come together around a shared goal. We’re grateful to play a part in helping them continue that work year after year.

Powered by the Community

MAFPG’s impact is made possible by the many volunteers who help throughout the growing season.

From planting and weeding to harvesting and delivering produce, volunteers play a major role in keeping the gardens productive and getting fresh food where it needs to go.

Every garden, every harvest, and every donation adds up.
