Activated Compost is an OMRI Listed, plant-based compost which has gone through a Secondary Activation Phase. In this stage, organically approved ingredients are added at a specific time, resulting in a unique bio-catalytic effect, where microbial life flourishes.
Activated Compost is a fertility enhanced soil amendment, and should be added to existing soil or growing media. Our general recommendation is 1 part compost to 2 parts existing soil or potting mix. See below for general use recommendations.
General Use Recommendations:
Trays/Flats: Topdress each flat with 2 cups at 2-3 weeks
Containers: Blend in 20-33% with current growing mix
Hoop Houses: 1" to 2" layer
Fruit/Vines: Side dress with 4-6 quarts per plant
Sandy Soils: 2 tons per acre (4 CY per acre)*
Clay Soils: 2 tons per acre (2 CY per acre)*
