Fertilizer Tips: When to Use Your Favorite Inputs

on August 02, 2022

We’re easing into the Summer, which means that your store is emptying of seedlings and seed packets, and making way for mid-season treatments and tools to keep lawns and gardens looking gorgeous. As plants pull nutrients from the soil, they need some added nutrition to supplement the minerals and biology in the soil. At Purple Cow Organics, we have several types of fertilizer to meet the nutritional needs of anyone from gardeners to lawn enthusiasts, but which products should they use at different points in the season, and how do you apply them?

Our BioActive All-Purpose Fertilizer is a plant-based 4-6-4 granular fertilizer. All-Purpose Fertilizer adds carbon, minerals, and biology, back to garden beds without the bulk of adding compost! This product is inoculated with mycorrhizal fungi, helping to make nutrients more available. This soil amendment is a slow-release fertilizer, so the best time to apply to your garden, and avoid overwhelming it, is at planting and at blossom.

BioActive Vegetable Supercharger  does exactly what the name says: it provides plants with living organisms and minerals to supercharge growth. This product contains a balance of macronutrients and micronutrients, as well as mycorrhizal fungi to meet the complete spectrum of plant needs. To use: dilute one tablespoon of BioActive Vegetable Supercharger into one gallon of water. The nutrients in Veggie Supercharger are immediately available at the root and the leaf surface! This mixture can be applied on up to 250 square feet of garden space.

CX-1 is the newest retail product in the Purple Cow Organics line. It’s a diverse liquid biological that allows you to make the most of the inputs you use in your garden, as well as the native minerals and nutrients. CX-1 requires activation with a food source, as the biology is stored in a dormant state. CX-1 can be activated with our Vegetable Supercharger. Add two tablespoons of CX-1 and one tablespoon of Veggie Supercharger to one gallon of water for an incredible dose of biology and nutrients.

Gardens have diverse nutritional needs. To meet it's demands, you need a fertility program that not only provides those nutrients, but also has the broad-spectrum biology to make them available. With the complete nutritional plan of All-Purpose Fertilizer, Vegetable Supercharger, and CX-1, your customer's gardens will have the combination of minerals, carbon, and biology to power through an incredible season. Contact your sales representative to see what Purple Cow products may be right for you!
